TMT Commitment
LDC Team In London Has TMT SECTOR In Its Sights.
Plans To Invest Up To £200Million In UK TMT COMPANIES With High Growth Potential.
LDC has committed to invest £200million to the TMT sector over the next two years as we have identified the sector as one of the key areas most likely to benefit as the economic recovery gathers pace.
TMT is one of the most dynamic and fast-moving sectors and a range of factors are helping to drive growth and innovation. The emergence of new products and services, computing in the cloud, tablet computing, a greater variety of software as a service are all driving expansion and also, to a certain extent, consolidation as bigger players try and assemble the right mix of new services and products.
All this makes mid-market TMT companies excellent potential investments, with likely attractive exit opportunities and it is an area, given our expertise, where we are very qualified to operate.
Daniel Sasaki previously led the TMT team and before joining LDC was the co-founder and managing partner of a specialist technology/digital media corporate finance house. He also worked for SOFTBANK which provided invaluable insight into how to identify winning TMT companies.
Since inception LDC has invested in over 50 TMT businesses, ranging across a broad variety of sub sectors, including software solutions (BigHand, iSoft, Software Solutions Partners), regional radio (Orion Media), and software licensing (Trustmarque Solutions).
Last year the £100million acquisition of specialist telecommunications provider Easynet Global Services, was one of LDC London’s biggest equity cheques to date while the investment in 1st – The Exchange, a market-leading provider of integrated technology solutions, software and consultancy to the UK financial services industry, was part of a £115million transaction.
These deals contributed strongly to LDC London’s recent excellent performance and provide a strong platform for the London team to complete further deals in 2011.
